It truly is nice to see you. I am Dr. Tinai James, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the founder of a practice dedicated to the next generation of high-achievers. With over seven years of experience in major healthcare systems, I specialize in supporting youth, teens, and BIPOC college students as they navigate the heavy weight of expectation and major life transitions.
My approach is built on the RCB FrameworkTM: Rooted, Culture-First, and Brave. I believe therapy should be a Brave Space where you don’t have to code-switch to be heard. Whether you are a student facing the "identity shift" of campus life or a parent seeking a therapist who understands your family’s cultural background, my goal is to provide clinical expertise that feels relevant to your real life.
In our sessions, we combine PhD-level clinical science with practical, goal-oriented strategies. We will work together to tackle anxiety and social pressure while building the cultural confidence you need to thrive. I am currently licensed to see clients in Georgia and 22+ states via PSYPACT, offering high-energy, modern care that honors exactly who you are. Let’s build your brave.

I specialise in helping people with mood conditions and addiction. I enjoy working with relationship, sex, and sexuality issues. I take a warm, empathic, and no-nonsense approach to therapy. I tend to be directive and involved with the goal of creating better outcomes for clients.
I began my career in mental health in the field of addiction. My clinical internship during was spent with people experiencing homelessness in Santa Monica. My second internship was spent in general private practice.
With 47 years of experience and a deep commitment to my clients' well-being, I'm dedicated to providing a supportive and effective therapeutic experience. I graduated from Chapman University with departmental honors in both Sociology and Social Work, and I hold a graduate degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy. My core strengths as a therapist are sincere empathy and deep listening, which I believe are the most powerful tools for fostering growth and healing. I am dedicated to continuous learning and am trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches, allowing me to tailor my methods to each client's unique needs.
I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can finally exhale. I strive to create an environment that is supportive, honest, and free of judgment; a place where you feel truly seen and emotionally safe. My approach is collaborative and practical. I don’t just help you understand why you feel the way you do; I help you build real tools to navigate it.
I earned my degree from Cal State Fullerton and have extensive experience working in addiction treatment, eating disorder recovery, and women’s issues. Supporting women is especially meaningful to me. I am deeply passionate about helping women navigate challenges related to self-worth, body image, relationships, boundaries, life transitions, and identity. I understand how trauma, societal expectations, and relational dynamics can shape how women see themselves, and I approach this work with both compassion and clarity.
Together, we focus on strengthening mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and communication skills in ways that feel realistic and sustainable. I blend insight-oriented exploration with concrete strategies, because meaningful change happens when insight meets action. My goal is to help you better understand your patterns, feel more confident managing your emotions, and move forward with greater clarity, self-trust, and resilience.
