I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space for self-exploration, discovery, and healing. By utilizing unconditional positive acceptance, my goal is to help clients add to their social and emotional knowledge so they can navigate through difficulties in ways that foster self-esteem, well-being, and growth.
Since graduating from the University at Albany in 2002, I’ve worked in human services and social work. Returning to graduate school, I discovered my passion for clinical social work. For me, the most fulfilling part is building meaningful connections and supporting others on their journey of healing and self-discovery.
Hi! my name is Kelly Albright, LCSW. I have my undergraduate degree in Psychology from SUNY Oswego and my MSW from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space to discuss whatever issues or concerns you are struggling with. I work with clients from all walks of life and have a wide range of experience in the mental health field. I am also trained in EMDR.
You’re tired and burnt out from overthinking, people-pleasing, doubting yourself, and trying to be everything to everyone. You’ve learned to push through, but now you're ready to feel okay. I work with folks who are ready to stop just surviving and start feeling more grounded, clearer, and more like themselves. My therapeutic approach is person-centered, providing a safe and comfortable space so all individuals feel like they can be their authentic selves.
I have experience working with adults through all stages of life from later adolescence through older adulthood to cope with various life struggles including depression, anxiety, family struggles, stress, life transitions, and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. I also specialize in working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Many of us, at some point in life, experience overwhelming and unpleasant feelings, such as persistent sadness, anxiety, grief, anger, loneliness, or stress. These may be the result of trauma, problems in relationships, stress because of work or school, loss, major life changes, conflicts, or unconscious/conscious self-defeating beliefs. However, no matter what has happened to us, we all have an innate ability to grow, to process, and to change. That fact that you are in this platform looking for help is already a great first step towards your healing process. I would very much like to help.
In my practice I provide strength and solution focused psychotherapy from a faith-based perspective (i.e. Catholic/Christian). This therapeutic process helps to empower you to take personal responsibility, resolve life problems, encourages you to advance towards desired goals, and promote healthy self-esteem.
I have over 10 years of experience providing psychotherapy services to teenagers, young adults, and older adults. The work that I do has helped people heal, improve their overall quality of life, improve spiritual growth, and their relationships.
I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor and a certified yoga instructor. I love working with clients that are motivated to change and become the best version of themselves! I enjoy working with clients that are ready to break unhealthy habits and unlearn negative thoughts and behaviors that keep us away from our true happiness and identity.
