I have a master's degree in Counseling with a concentration in Drug and Alcohol Treatment from The College of New Jersey and a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Howard University. I provide culturally responsive and trauma informed interventions in a safe environment for people of color that centers the client's needs and allow them to actualize the best version of themselves.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey. I graduated with my MSW from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey in 2018. I have worked with adults of all ages and have experience working with clients diagnosed with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, substance use, and trauma.
My name is Kathleen Wright and I am an LCSW in Hunterdon County, NJ. I have been practicing social work for over eleven years and graduated from the University of Southern California with my MSW. I truly love listening and learning from people. I believe strongly in helping those around me and am looking forward to working with you.
I have spent a majority of my training working across the lifespan from childhood to adulthood, and within family systems. I am trained in helping clients with stress and anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, family conflicts, motivation, self-esteem, confidence, and depression. Some of the individuals that I work with are in recovery from eating and substance-related disorders. My clients often face school and work avoidance and may find it difficult to do things they once enjoyed.

If your brain feels loud, relentless, or like it won’t shut off, you’re in the right place.
I work with clients navigating Anxiety, OCD, and ADHD who feel stuck in cycles of overthinking, intrusive thoughts, compulsions, and burnout. Whether you’re dealing with rumination, executive dysfunction, or emotional overwhelm, therapy with me focuses on helping you better understand your brain and learn how to work with it, not against it.
Many of my clients appear high-functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed, self-critical, or exhausted behind the scenes. Our work focuses on building self-awareness, improving your relationship with yourself, and helping you feel more grounded and in control.
You don’t need to have it all figured out to start, just a willingness to show up and be honest. I’ll meet you with support, structure, and the right amount of challenge.
I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Centenary University and a Bachelor’s degree from Montclair State University.
If you’re ready to feel more in control, more understood, and less at war with your mind, I’d be glad to connect.
